The year 1992 was when Amanda Bossard began her study of marine biology in Anchorage at Alaska Pacific University. Bossard's career began in 1999 with a job aboard the F/V Sunset. The 65-foot vessel, which was a halibut fishing vessel, was transformed into a tender for salmon by Murat Ariatn. The couple has been fishing commercially for over twenty years.
